  • 1/3 cup cornstarch

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Flaky sea salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your pie crust in an 8-inch or 9-inch pie pan and chill in the refrigerator.
  2. In a medium saucepan, whisk together heavy whipping cream, brown sugar, cornstarch, and salt over medium heat until boiling.
  3. Remove from heat and gradually temper the egg yolks with the hot cream mixture.
  4. Combine everything back into the saucepan and stir in honey and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Pour the custard into the chilled crust and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 40-45 minutes until set.
  6. Let it cool to room temperature before refrigerating until chilled.
  7. Before serving, sprinkle flaky sea salt on top.
