Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups whole golden flaxseed
  • 4 Tbsp psyllium husk powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 ⅓ cups hot water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 356°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Grind the whole golden flaxseeds in an electric spice/coffee grinder until they reach a flour-like consistency.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground flaxseed meal, psyllium husk powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir until well mixed.
  4. Pour in the hot water and mix thoroughly with a spoon until combined. Knead with your hands for about 30 seconds until you form a cohesive dough.
  5. Shape the dough into a round disk and place it on the prepared baking sheet. Wet the top lightly and sprinkle some extra whole flax seeds if desired.
  6. Bake for about 50 minutes or until golden brown and doubled in size.
  7. Allow the bread to cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
